Description
”Dapper, and apparently untroubled, John George Haigh, suspected of murdering six persons and dissolving their bodies in a sulfhuric acid bath, is shown (top) in a scotland yard car following his arrest. Below, a curious crowd outside the block of flats at 79 Gloucester Terrace, where the investagation was centered. At the moment police were digging in the cellar for traces of the victims. Haigh has been called a "vampire" because he told police that he sipped the blood of victing through a lemonade straw. He is charged specifically with the murder of Mrs. Olive Durand-Deacon. Bits of flesh found in a factory were identified as parts of her body.”
